Flames has new technical panel

By Amalawi - Thu Feb 07, 8:07 pm

The Football Association of Malawi -FAM has announced the new members that will be running the Malawi National Football Team.

Confirming the development, FAM’s General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said the new Head Coach is now Edington Ng’onamo who is also Big Bullets Coach who is also going to be assisted by Patrick Mabedi and Ernest Mtawali.

“Yeah it is true that we have now revealed the new technical panel to be heading the Flames and these people will work up to the end of 2014 FIFA World Cup and then we will come again to announce permanent coaches as these will work on interim” said Nyirenda.

The others are Charles Manda who will be working as Team Manager and Captain Kondwani Kachipanda who has been given a post of Team Doctor.

Speaking in an interview Mtawali said he would like to help his Nation given the chance and the same was Mabedi’s answer when approached.

“I am open to take the offer if given time and working for Malawi will not be something I can regret,” he said

But Ng’onamo said “Meanwhile I cannot say much because I have not been approached.  I will say more after being approached and told about the details,” Ng’onamo said.

However Nyirenda said the association confirmed with the coaches and have all agreed on the offer.

But still more the development has generated much interest from many people as others say new crew is not good if what is needed is the development of football in the country while others say they do not have any problems with Ng’onamo but Mtawali and saying they are not based in Malawi and therefore cannot explain Malawian Football.
