DPP has once held rallies in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Balaka and Thyolo, attracting an astonishingly mammoth of turnout, which raised eyebrows on the future of the party that was deemed dead following the demise of its founder and leader, late President Bingu wa Mutharika.

The Njamba rally is set to be a litmus test for the DPP, which boost of having majority of Members of Parliament in the august House, on its popularity in the commercial city of Blantyre and surrounding areas.

And it is yet to be seen if the party will use its open land-rover convoy, which the law enforcers has put into stop on the argument that it is only the country’s President who has right to use such convoy.
